Children's Ministry Purpose Statement

The mission of the Children's Ministry at First Baptist Dover is to lay a foundation and provide an atmosphere in which a child can make a responsible decision for Christ and grow in knowledge and understanding of the responsibility of that decision through Bible training activities and application to their lives.

Vacation Bible School
During the summer, kids can be a part of a wonderful weeklong celebration at our downtown campus. Join in Bible study, games, crafts, prizes, and hear exciting stories from missionaries.

Children will discover not only the principles by which God wants us to live, but also that Jesus is the power by which we live.

Sunday School
Warm and dedicated teachers will greet your children every Sunday. Our leaders bring out the best in children as they guide and encourage. Their priority is to build up your kids with the love of God and lead them to a deeper knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Don't be surprised to get a phone call from a teacher who's just calling to let your child know they're praying for them!

Bring your friends and be a part of our exciting Bible study, worship, games, and learning activities.

Sunday Morning Schedule
At First Baptist Dover, children will find a place where they can learn about the Bible, grow in Christ, and meet good friends.

What is AWANA?
A national club for children ages 4 through 6th grade designed to:
REACH - children with the Gospel.
TEACH - children how to have a relationship with Christ.
TRAIN - children to study God's Word and hide it in their heart all accomplished in a fun and exciting way with exhilarating games, activities and scripture memorization.

AWANA also facilitates family growth in knowledge and understandiing of scripture. Parents help their children learn scripture and are encouraged to participate in leadership.

Why AWANA?
Kids and parents love AWANA. AWANA club meetings are jam-packed with life changing experiences. Kids are learning and growing while they have fun. Trained leaders lead children through age-appropriate material.

Clubbers learn that God is real, that He loves them, and that He has expressed that love through Jesus Christ. AWANA uses the Bible to teach children to honor God and their fellow human beings.

The goal of AWANA Clubs is to reach boys and girls for Christ and train them to serve Him. The Club materials are filled with verses from the Bible and guidelines to help kids memorize and understand them.
