Ministries

The ministries of First Baptist Dover are designed to enrich and equip your life. Through a variety of Bible study groups and unique ministry organizations, there's a place for you to experience personal and spiritual growth.

 
  • Audio Visual Ministry Team

Provides technical services to enhance all worship services throughout he sound and video systems.

  • AWANA Ministry

Reaches boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and trains them to serve Him. Helps children learn the Scripture. Meets on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m.

  • Backyard Bible Club Ministry

Reaches unchurched children and families and spread the gospel of Christ in our neighborhoods.

  • Baptism Ministry

Assists the pastor in preparing for and administering baptism.

  • Baptist Collegiate Ministry

Provides lunch for the college students at Arkansas Tech University through the BCM program. BCM meals are prepared twice yearly.

  • Bereavement Ministry

Assists the pastor in ministering to church families who have experienced the death of a loved one though meals, visits, cards, etc.

  • Building and Ground Ministry

Responsible for keeping the physical property in good working order; making repairs as needed and organizing work days to clean and fix up the church facilities.

  • Children's Choir Ministry

Helps children grades K-6 learn to sings songs of praise and present special music to the church membership, including a Christmas program. Children's choir meets during the fall semester at 5:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Ministers to the children of the church in grades K-6 through instruction and fellowship activities.

Enhances worship through harmonized and solo vocal music. The adult choir presents an Easter and a Christmas program.

  • Disaster Relief Ministry Team

Helps others in times of natural disasters and works with with the Arkansas Baptist State Convention for deployment to disaster areas.

  • Extended Care Ministry

Provides a safe and loving ministry for pre-schoolers to learn about Jesus and His love. Extended Care is provided during the Sunday morning and evening worship services. Volunteers serve once per month.

  • Girls In Action Ministry

Helps girls K-6 learn about missions, pray for missions, give to missions, and participate in mission projects. GA's meet during the Spring Semester on Sunday evenings at 5:00.

  • Heart To Heart Ministry

Ministers to ladies age 20-40 though shared testimonies, prayer, and fellowship. Heart to Heart meets the third Saturday of the month at 9:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

  • Hospitality Ministry

Coordinates, prepares and serves refreshments for various church activities and fellowships.

  • Library Ministry

Acquires, catalogs, and maintains a library to provide quality books for reading and study.

  • Love worth Sharing Ministry Teams

Shares the gospel of Jesus Christ with church visitors, homebound and inactive members, and encourages church involvement.

  • Meals On Wheels Ministry

Helps to distribute meals to homebound elderly people. FBD serves meals one week per month.

  • Mission ministry

Helps to raise and distribute money allocated for various mission trips and evaluates and makes recommendations concerning mission funding by our church. Also makes recommendations to the church regarding participation in various mission trips and the funding of such trips.

  • Musician's Ministry

Enhances worship through instrumental music during regular and special worship times.

  • Nail Benders Ministry

Spreads the gospel and furthers God's Kingdom though construction of new churches.

  • Nursing Home Ministry

Leads worship time for the residents of the Stella Manor Nursing Center every third Friday of the month.

  • Prayer Teams Ministry

Encourages intercessory prayer for the various ministries of the church:

B. Wednesday Morning Men's Prayer Ministry

C. Wednesday Evening Prayer Ministry

D. Love Worth Sharing Prayer Team

  • Precious Jewels Ministry

Ministers to the widows in the church through activities, visits, and a variety of fellowships.

Plans for and provides a safe and loving ministry for pre-schoolers to learn about Jesus and His love for them.

  • Royal Ambassadors Ministry

Ministers to boys ages K-6 by teaching them about missions and participating in local missions. RA's January-July Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

  • Secret Sisters Ministry

Provides prayer and encouragement for ladies in the church and helps them to celebrate special events in their lives.

  • Shopping Spree Ministry

Promotes fellowship among women of all ages through shopping trips.

  • Stewardship Ministry Team

Promotes stewardship education in all areas of church life by developing church members understanding of and commitment to Biblical stewardship.

Ministers to people of all ages and teaches about Jesus and His sacrificial love for them. Sunday School meets at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday.

  • Tuesday Night Adult Bible Study Ministry

Encourages discipleship and fellowship and aids believers in recognizing and acting on evangelism opportunities. Meets Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Teaches children about Jesus and spreads the Good News of Christ through teaching, worship, skits, games, music, and various activities. VBS is held annually during the summer

 

Points students toward a viable, maturing relationship with Christ; providing activities to attract and disciple teens in the River Valley.

  • World Watchers Ministry

A ministry that teaches about missions and prays for missionaries and encourages giving to missions. Meets the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
