Dr. Jeff Paxton, Pastor
Dr. Jeff Paxton has been the pastor of the First Baptist Church
in Dover for over 16 years. He married his grade school sweetheart, Marci, and they have two children, Austin,
17, and Ashley, 14.
He grew up in Memphis, Tennessee where he attended Oakhaven Baptist Academy. He went to college on a baseball scholorship
and graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in Communications in 1984. He received his Master's of Divinity from Mid America
Baptist Theological Seminary in 1987, and his Doctor of Ministry from
Luther Rice Seminary
of Atlanta, Georgia in 1995.
He has served on various boards throughout the Arkansas
Baptist State Convention, and has been on several missions trips, including
ministry in Guatemala, India, and Mexico.
In his free time, Bro. Jeff enjoys golf and woodworking. He has written a "how to" woodworking book entitled,
"Words
of Faith in Wood," published by Fox Chapel Publishing, and has had
several articles published in Scroll Saw Workshop.
